Enhanced - The 1775

The 1775, our enhanced homeowners policy, offers everything the standard policy offers, plus the following enhancements

Enhancements

Coverage also includes …

Replacement Coverage for Your Home. If your home is destroyed, the cost to replace it may exceed your policy limits. With the 1775, coverage is available beyond those limits if it is needed.

Replacement Coverage for Contents. Over time, most household items decrease in value. For example, televisions, washers and dryers, stereos, and many other household appliances completely depreciate in value over 10 years, while most clothing loses its value in just two years. With the 1775, you can replace most everything you own at today’s costs up to the policy limit.

Special Coverage for Contents. Most policies cover losses resulting only from a list of specifically named perils, such as fire, lightning, theft, wind and hail. If damage is caused by a peril not listed in the policy, you’re out of luck. With the 1775, your contents are covered for any cause of loss, except where specifically excluded. Whether you spill coffee on your computer or a home repair project goes wrong – you’re covered.

Sewer Back-Up. Damage caused when sewers and drains back up is not covered by standard policies. The Bunker Hill 1775 protects policyholders from this serious problem up to a limit of $2,000.

Refrigerated Products. Damage caused by power interruption is usually excluded from coverage. The 1775 covers the replacement of the contents of your refrigerator and freezer.

Increased Credit Card Protection. The 1775 increases your protection from $500 to $10,000.

Personal Injury Liability Coverage. Standard policies protect you against bodily injury and property damage claims of others for which you are held responsible. The 1775 further protects you against other types of claims, including libel, slander, and invasion of privacy.

Increased Special Limits. Coverage typically is limited for damage or theft of items such as jewelry, silverware, cash, and business property. With the 1775, your coverage limits for these items are increased. For example, the jewelry limit increases from $1,000 to $2,000, and the silverware limit increases from $2,500 to $5,000.

Not every home qualifies for the 1775. To find out if yours does, contact your agent. Condominium Insurance (HO-6)

HO-6 coverage includes …

Dwelling. Your condominium unit is covered, including walls, floors, permanent built-in appliances, fixtures, improvements, plumbing, wiring and anything else that is specific to your unit. Consult the condominium master deed to determine your actual ownership rights and responsibilities as a unit owner.

Personal Property. Most personal possessions, including clothing, furniture, appliances and general household belongings.

Loss of Use. In the case where your home is unlivable as the result of a covered loss, we cover your additional living expenses, such as hotel and restaurant costs.

Personal Liability. You and resident family members are protected from damages when negligent acts result in another’s accidental injury or property damage.

Medical Payments. Medical coverage for your guests who are injured on your property.

Endorsements

Endorsements can be added to your policy or expand the limits of your coverage. Your agent can help you determine the most appropriate coverage for your needs. Common endorsements include:

The Smart Choice. The Smart Choice combines some of the most popular property and liability coverages and makes them available at one affordable price. The Smart Choice increases limits on certain classes of personal property, such as jewelry, furs, silverware and business property, to name a few. It also includes coverage for removal of downed trees, food spoilage, increased credit card protection, increased medical payments, expanded watercraft liability and personal injury protection. These are only some of the extras the Smart Choice provides. Ask your agent for the full details and limits.

Replacement Cost of Contents. Insure your personal belongings for their full replacement cost. Without this endorsement, a standard homeowners policy covers your contents for their actual cash value, which is the replacement cost minus depreciation.

Guaranteed Replacement Cost of Dwelling. If your home is destroyed, the cost to rebuild it may exceed your policy limits. This endorsement provides additional coverage beyond the stated policy limits if needed.

Personal Umbrella Liability. Personal liability suits are becoming more common – and so are seven-figure damage awards. Personal Umbrella Liability coverage, with a limit of either $1,000,000 or $2,000,000, can protect your family’s assets from a financial catastrophe. This coverage protects you from suits that exceed the liability limits on your homeowners, automobile and watercraft insurance.

Scheduled Personal Property. Your coverage may be limited for certain classes of personal property that may be very valuable. Coverage for the theft of jewelry, for example, is limited to $1,000 and coverage for the theft of silverware is limited to $2,500. These items and many others can be insured separately for a specific limit. This endorsement provides you broader coverage and eliminates the deductible.

Special Computer Coverage. This endorsement provides extra coverage for your personal computer and related equipment.

Many other endorsements are available from Bunker Hill, including:

Ask your agent – there are more! Your agent can help you in personalizing the right program for your needs.
